Business / Administrative Division

The Business/Administrative Division provides many auxiliary services. A citizen can appeal a decision from a Superior Court hearing in a civil or criminal matter, file for an adoption of a child or adult, obtain a Fi. Fa. (which is a document that authorizes the seizure of property to satisfy a judgement), a hospital lien or foreign judgement, register the trade name of a business, file papers for general partnerships, or apply for a Notary Public commission. This division is also responsible for payment of funds into the registry of the court as directed by the court, and all aspects of jury service.

You may obtain copies of and/or files of the following documents:

Appeals - From Superior Court to the Georgia Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Georgia

Adoptions - Records are available to the public ONLY by court order

General Executions - document directing the Sheriff to seize properties to satisfy a judgement

• Hospital Liens - Money due for hospital care
• Foreign Judgements - Judgements recorded to allow enforcement of out-of-state orders to seize properties

Trade Names / Charters / Limited Partnerships / General Partnerships

Notary Public Commissions

• Certificates of Commission
• Authentication of notarial signature generally required on official documents to be sent to foreign government agencies

Accounting / Court Registry

• Accounting and purchasing for clerk's office
• Receipt and payment of funds paid into court

Jury Management - Responsible for summoning of jurors, this department provides many services vital to maintaining a highly efficient jury system.
